Unit 7, Lesson 15: Mapping Civilizations
Learning Target: I can accurately label and interpret a map of classical civilizations.
Class Activities:
1. Students came in and picked up a "Mapping Civilizations" handout. There was no do now.
2. Students spent the period mapping classical civilizations, as well as some major physical features. They were given atlases, handouts of the civilizations' empires, and colored pencils. Mapping is actually a pretty difficult skill, and the students worked pretty hard. I walked around and answered questions/checked maps.
3. Students that finished the map were able to answer the Thinking Bigger questions on the front.
Papers handed in today:
Section 4 handed in Timeline of Classical Civilizations worksheet.
Others sections handed in nothing.
Homework:
Finish Mapping Civilizations handout. (Use the attached civilization empires file, and google image the physical features.)
