Unit 2, Lesson 9: Models of the Universe DBQ Essay
Learning Target: I can analyze primary and secondary sources.
Class Activities:
1. We reviewed the DBQ (document based question) essay the students will be writing. The question is, "How and why do people change their minds?", and the purpose of today's lesson is to analyze several sources for them to use in the following lesson's essay.
2. Students picked up several documents and answered the questions. I moved around and helped students who were having a tough time.
3. At the end of class, we had about 5-7 minutes to discuss students' opinions on the above questions. I collected the 3 reads on the way out the door.
Papers handed in today:
"Discussing the Big Bang" sheet and "Big Bang Discussion self-assessment"
Homework:
Use the documents to complete the handout. Be prepared to write the essay in class in the following lesson.
