Unit 6, Lesson 7: DBQ
Learning Target: I can formulate an argument about why humans are different.
Class Activities:
1. Students came in and took a do now quiz. I'll give another one before the end of the marking period and take the higher of the 2 grades.
2. Students assembled their Unit 6 assessment packets. This DBQ (document based question) asks, "does human language make us different from animals?" Of course, this is an opinion question, with no right answer or claim. As long as the student chooses good, specific evidence and explains it well, they should be fine. Here's what a completed product should include:
3. Students had about half an hour to begin reading the documents and completing their graphic organizers.
Papers handed in today:
Lifestyle of Paleolithic Era Humans Day 2 worksheet
Homework:
Graphic organizer, 1-sentence claim, and 2 paragraphs due the Monday after break (Feb 22)
