Unit 4, Lesson 8: Unique Earth
Learning Target: I can explain why Earth is so unique compared to the other planets.
Class Activities:
1. Students came in and took a "Why is Earth so Unique?" handout. Their do now was to fill out Part 1, Student 1 of the handout, asking them to write down some interesting information from their brochure. Students shared with their groups, then we shared out with the class.
2. Students free wrote a prediction to part 2 of their worksheet, which asked, "What made Earth so unique?". Students came up with a lot of really good ideas, like:
3. We skipped the video clip, and went right into the comic, which reviewed some prior information and listed info about why Earth was unique.
Papers handed in today:
Sections 1 & 2 handed in their brochures
Homework:
Sections 1 & 2: None
Sections 3 & 4: Brochures due Monday
