Unit 2, Lesson 19: Monotheistic Religions, Day 2
Learning Target: I can analyze multiple sources to answer a historical question
Class Activities:
1. Students came in and picked up the "Monotheism, Day 2" handout and the homework handout.
2. Students got to work on the do now. We went over the do now together on the board and generally reviewed monotheism, what the essential question was, etc.
3. We went back into the hallway to do the same as thing as the previous lesson. I added three more stations to keep things fresh and exciting. (I know what you're thinking: Global History is always fresh and exciting!) Remember, students are trying to answer the question, "Are the monotheistic religions more similar or more different?", so while looking at each station, they should be trying to find evidence to support their answer/claim. Most students did 3 stations. (If you're looking feel like you need more info, look at the gallery walk materials here and in the previous lesson)
4. We came back inside and quietly wrote for 3 minutes, answering the questions on the front of their handout. Then they spent two minutes sharing their answers, and then we shared info as a class.
Papers handed in today:
None
Homework:
Paragraph answering the essential question due tomorrow. There's a rubric on the back of the handout, so you know what I'm looking for, and there's an outline prompt if you need help organizing. I'll also be collecting the Monotheism Day 1 and Monotheism Day 2 worksheets.
FYI-- World Religions quiz on Friday for sections 1 & 3, on Monday for sections 2 & 4.
