Learning Target: I can analyze multiple sources to gather mann ideas about Medieval Europe
Class Activities:
1. Students came in and took a seat. We immediately finished the Islamic Empire material from yesterday, which was watching two quick video clips about the Golden Age. Key things to note about the Islamic Golden Age:
2. We immediately moved on to Medieval Europe. We looked at a map and reviewed how when Rome fell, Western Europe broke up into many smaller kingdoms rather than 1 unified empire.
3. We went over feudalism (the social system) and manorialism (the economic system) of the time.
Feudalism is a system of mutual obligation (give and take), while manorialism is an economic system of self-sufficiency.

- The created the House of Wisdom in Baghdad
- Travelled around the empire collecting manuscripts and books in order to preserve and translate work before they get lost.
- Invented a bunch of stuff: algebra, the camera, early prototype of an airplane, etc.
